Leggy Lust: Winter Coats

Hey Leggy Lovelies,

If you tend to get chilly wrists come Christmas time, then this post is for you. I’ve been scouring the specialist Tall ranges for their chicest cover-ups. You can hover your mouse over your favourites for links.

I especially love this long-line biker style jacket from New Look. I bought  the shorter version last year and it remains a wardrobe staple, and still looks far pricier than what I paid for it.

Pastels and soft neutral colours are key in coat trends for Winter 2014/15. The colour of this blush pink New Look number is fabulously at odds with its boxy, boyfriend silhouette.

I bought a thick padded Next coat for a Christmas trip to New York last year, and it kept me super toasty. This down-filled one is perfect for Christmas shopping and chilly football mums.

Anyone else found any fab coats on the highstreet that work for us Leggy Lovelies? Let me know below.

  1. I am still looking for a work type coat with a hood that actually comes up over my head properly. I had an amazing coat from Pilot (do we still remember Pilot?) but it’s looked shabby for a few years and it’s dead now 🙁

  2. Ha! Good old Pilot. Did you have a particular colour in mind? And presumably you mean smart-ish, so a soft fabric rather than a puffa? X

  3. This ASOS Tall hooded duffle coat is rather lovely and could be smart or casual. http://rstyle.me/cz-n/r4mvym8rw

  4. Long Tall Sally is where I got my last coat, can be a bit expensive but the quality of mine is great and will last for years. Also the hood completely covers my head.

  5. Anyone experience with the tall range from Dorothy Perkins? (I am 6’3 so presumably on the tall end of being tall..) Really like that blush coat 🙂

    • Hi Mary,

I personally find that Dorothy Perkins Tall sizes well (prob a bit more generously than Topshop).

It’s been a while since I bought a coat from there, but the dresses/tops always seem well fitted to my proportions.

  6. I’ve recently discovered – and fallen in love with – Quba. Their clothes don’t fit that well, though hooded tops have great sleeve length, but their costs are made for tall. I’m in the process of buying every coat they sell I think 🙂

  7. Any sign of baby yet Laura? My little boy around two weeks ago. Just getting used to the sleepless nights again x

  8. We must have similar tastes! Had my eye on the longline biker jacket, and bought the pink boxy coat… Returned it though – didn’t like the material, though I loved the colour and style 🙁

Be patient with your bubba’s arrival Laura! Due date is only a prediction after all, your ‘pink’ will come when she’s ready, at the right time… I was induced when my ‘pink’ was two weeks past ‘due’ date – in retrospect I think it was uneccessary… Both bubba and I were healthy and well, and I think the induction caused some complications in my labour as a result (despite an issue free pregnancy).

  9. I’ve been looking for a waterproof coat that fits and doesn’t make me look like a frump. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I walk the dog come rain or shine and really don’t want to buy a mens cagoule 🙁

  10. Hi I am currently doing some market research. I would be very grateful if any one would take 5 minutes to complete this short survey thanks!! x

  11. Hi!!
Great coats selection! I’ve been looking in all tall on-line stores I know for a leather (real leather jacket) and it has been so disappointing. Almost all of them offer faux leather pieces (except from LTS), so there’s still a huge place for improvent to all those brands who want to sell good quality tall clothes. Anyway, thanks God there’re a good coat options for tall frames!

  13. Her winter jacket was left open to reveal her thigh-skimming minidress and draw attention to her incredible, supermodel pins as she strutted along in colour-co-ordinating heels.

  14. Your stuff is rather intriguing
